The Miami Lakes Branch Library opened in 1981 to serve the communities of Miami Lakes, Palm Springs North, Country Club of Miami, Hialeah Gardens and Carol City. Located on 67th Avenue just south of the Palmetto Expressway on land donated by the Graham Company, the 11,000 square-foot, medium-sized facility serves a diverse, multiethnic, multi-age community. The library offers a full range of services from newspaper and magazine subscriptions to Internet access, and includes a range of online databases providing full-text articles on a wide variety of subjects, an online catalog accessing the collections of the entire library system, a large multipurpose room for programs for children and adults, and a well-rounded collection of reference and circulating books and materials such as CDs, videos and audiocassettes.
